The position partners closely with Supply Chain Planning, Procurement, Customer Service, Manufacturing, Finance, Quality, and external logistics providers to achieve operational excellence and deliver best-in-class customer service.Up to 20% travel, domestic and internationalThis is an onsite opportunity in Alameda, CA.What You’ll Work OnTransportation & Freight ManagementDevelop and implement transportation strategies that optimize cost, service, and capacity.Manage domestic and international freight operations across multiple modes, including truckload, LTL, parcel, ocean, and air freight.Lead carrier sourcing, selection, contracting, and performance management activities.Monitor freight spend and identify opportunities for cost reduction and network optimization.Ensure carrier compliance with safety, regulatory, and company requirements.Planning efforts related to logistics operations.Distribution OperationsOversee warehouse and distribution activities to ensure on-time and accurate order fulfillment.Drive inventory flow improvements across distribution centers and transportation networks.Establish and monitor service-level agreements (SLAs) with internal stakeholders and third-party logistics providers.Lead capacity planning and peak-season readiness initiatives.Support business continuity and contingency planning.Strategic LeadershipDevelop long-term distribution network strategies aligned with business objectives.Lead transportation and warehouse optimization projects.Utilize analytics and modeling tools to improve network efficiency and customer service.Identify automation and digital transformation opportunities within logistics operations.Build and execute logistics roadmaps that support growth and operational scalabilityFinancial ManagementManage freight and distribution budgets.Analyze transportation and warehousing costs and identify savings opportunities.Develop business cases and ROI analyses for logistics investments.Ensure budget adherence while maintaining service expectations.Team LeadershipLead, mentor, and develop logistics, transportation, and distribution teams.Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, safety, and continuous improvement.Support talent development and succession planning efforts.Manage cross-functional project teams and influence stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field.7+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, transportation, distribution, or program management.Minimum 1 year of people managementStrong knowledge of freight operations, transportation management, distribution networks, and warehouse operations.Experience managing external carriers, freight providers, and 3PL partners.Experience with SAP, WMS, TMS and reporting tools.Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.Preferred QualificationsMBA or Master's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or Operations Management.PMP, Lean Six Sigma, APICS/ASCM CPIM, CSCP, or CLTD certification.Experience in highly regulated industries such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or manufacturing.Experience leading global logistics and distribution programs.Knowledge of trade compliance, customs regulations, and international transportation.The base pay for this position is $148,700.00 – $297,300.00In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.JOB FAMILY:Supply ChainDIVISION:ADC Diabetes CareLOCATION:United States > Alameda : 2801 Harbor Bay ParkwayADDITIONAL LOCATIONS:WORK SHIFT:StandardTRAVEL:Yes, 20 % of the TimeMEDICAL SURVEILLANCE:NoSIGNIFICANT WORK ACTIVITIES:Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hour day)Abbott is an Equal Opportunity Employer of Minorities/Women/Individuals with Disabilities/Protected Veterans.EEO is the Law link - English: is the Law link - Espanol:
