Lead Mechanical Engineer – Process & Plant DesignOur client, a recognized global leader in biofuels, biochemical processing, and industrial process technologies, is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer – Process & Plant Design. As a key member of the engineering team, you will lead the mechanical engineering efforts for complex process plant projects, driving design and execution from concept development and detailed engineering through construction support, commissioning, and startup. Compensation is negotiable and commensurate with experience, technical expertise, industry background, and overall qualifications.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the mechanical engineering function (20% team leadership, 80% hands-on design).Develop and maintain piping specifications, mechanical standards, and design details.Create and review 2D/3D engineering packages using AutoCAD Plant 3D.Interpret and update PFDs, P&IDs, and general arrangement drawings.Review vendor drawings, fabrication packages, and equipment data sheets.Perform hydraulic calculations, pump sizing, and rotating equipment selection.Collaborate with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.Ensure compliance with TEMA, ASME, ASTM, API, and NFPA standards.QualificationsBS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in chemical, biofuel, process manufacturing, or capital project environments.Expertise in AutoCAD Plant 3D, P&ID development, hydraulics, pumps, heat exchangers, vessels, and process piping.Preferred QualificationsSoftware: Navisworks, Bluebeam, pump sizing software, Fisher Spec Manager, and Microsoft Excel/VBAFE or PE certificationWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected status.
