Electrical Engineer – Direct Hire
Location: Wilmington, OH (onsite)
Salary: $100,000–$110,000+ depending on experience, plus a 10% incentive after 90 days

About the opportunity
Our client is a long-established manufacturer of emergency, rescue, and patient-handling equipment used by EMS teams around the world. They are growing a platform of powered EMS products and need an Electrical Engineer to own electrical design from concept through launch. You will work on a hands-on engineering team and see your designs go into products that first responders use every day.

What you'll do

  • Design PCBAs from start to finish schematics, layouts, Gerbers, drawings, and bills of materials.
  • Write embedded C/C++ firmware for ST and PIC microcontrollers.
  • Design or specify DC motor controls, LiFePO4 battery systems, wireless communications, displays, and user interfaces.
  • Select connectors, sensors, harnesses, EMC shielding, and enclosures for reliability and vibration resistance.
  • Lead new product development from concept to launch, and support existing products, quality, and manufacturing.
  • Troubleshoot, test, validation, and qualification equipment, and guide team members on test methods.
  • Write clear technical descriptions, procedures, and instructions.
  • Work with operations, product management, quality, regulatory, contract manufacturers, and vendors.
  • Take part in Engineering Change Orders and phase-gate reviews within the quality system.

What you bring

  • Altium Designer experience (required)
  • Embedded C/C++ programming skills
  • PCBA design experience and a track record of taking products from concept to launch
  • The ability to work independently
  • A few years of experience is preferred. Strong candidates with less experience will be considered if their technical skills are the right fit, and industry experience is not required.
  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is preferred. Other degrees will be considered depending on experience.

Nice to have

  • SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM
  • Medical device experience (FDA, ISO 13485, ISO 14971, MDR)
  • Familiarity with IEC, UL, CSA, CE, and EN standards
  • New product introduction (NPI) experience

Schedule and work environment

  • Onsite Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
  • Occasional Saturdays, a few times a year
  • Very little travel (local only, 5–10%)
  • Mostly office and lab work, with safety glasses required in designated areas

Compensation and benefits

  • $100,000–$110,000+ base salary, with more possible for the right experience
  • 10% incentive after 90 days
  • Relocation assistance available for the right candidate
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Benefits begin the first of the month after your start date
