Registered Nurse - Charge RN (Nights)

Schedule

This is a 13-week contract position for Night shifts, consisting of 3 shifts of 12 hours each (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM). The role requires working every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday).

Job Description

The Registered Nurse (Charge RN) will serve in a 29-bed unit providing care for adult and geriatric patients, including those with orthopedic and medical-surgical needs. The department features telemetry monitoring and an on-unit physical therapy gym to facilitate patient recovery without leaving the unit.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to high-volume patient populations, including those who have undergone total joint replacements, fracture repairs, and other surgical procedures.
• Oversee and ensure adherence to nursing standards while working in a charge capacity.
• Participate in telemetry monitoring and patient assessments.
• Coordinate with interdisciplinary support services, including physical therapy and respiratory services.
• Administer medications and monitor patient progress, addressing any complications.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with previous travel experience required.
• Charge RN experience is mandatory.
• BLS certification is required.
• Experience with the Epic charting system is a must.
• Candidates must pass a Pass/Fail EKG exam during compliance.
