Corrections Registered Nurse (RN)

Schedule: 4x10s | Saturday-Tuesday | 12:00 PM-10:30 PM

Local Rate: $65/hr

Travel Weekly Gross: $3,006

• Hourly rate: $44/HR

• Housing stipend: $770 weekly

• Meals stipend: $476 weekly

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a Corrections contract assignment in Shelton, WA. This role provides nursing care in a secure correctional healthcare environment, supporting the medical needs of an adult population.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments, triage, and ongoing monitoring

• Administer medications and treatments as ordered

• Respond to medical emergencies within the facility

• Provide nursing care for chronic and acute conditions

• Accurately document patient care in compliance with facility and regulatory standards

• Collaborate with correctional staff and healthcare team members to ensure safe, effective care

Requirements

• Active RN license (WA state or compact)

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Emergency Room, Critical Care, or Med/Surg

• Ability to work independently and handle high-acuity situations

• Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills

• Corrections experience preferred but not required

The Correctional RN works in collaboration with other healthcare professionals, correctional officers, and administrators to ensure the well-being of the incarcerated population. The Correctional RN utilizes their knowledge to address the specific challenges and limitations of the correctional environment while providing care to their patient population. This care includes both routine and emergency health care in a correctional facility setting.

Minimum Requirements:

• Current Registered Nurse License for the state in which the nurse practices

• Minimum of one year of correctional health care experience preferred

• Current CPR if applicable

• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
