Technology Business Development Lead

The Technology Business Development Lead will own and manage LMC’s member-facing technology purchasing portfolio, serving as the primary connection point between technology vendors and LMC members. This role will support LMC members by providing information on approved technology partners, available purchasing programs, improving the ability to stay competitive in an increasingly technology-focused marketplace. The Technology Business Development Lead will source and vet new technology suppliers, serve as the point of contact for current suppliers, and lead software-specific user groups that promote education, adoption, and peer collaboration. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Support the administration and coordination of LMC's technology vendor portfolio. Assist technology leadership in evaluating potential new vendors and technology programs that align with dealer needs and industry trends. Maintain awareness of emerging technologies, software platforms, and digital tools that could benefit independent lumber and building materials dealers. Vendor Evaluation and Demonstrations Source, screen, and evaluate technology vendors, including software, services, and digital platforms. Organize product demonstrations to understand vendor capabilities, pricing models, implementation requirements, and dealer fit. Support the negotiation and administration of technology purchasing programs that deliver competitive pricing, clear dealer value, and strong vendor accountability. Translate vendor offerings into clear, practical value propositions for dealers and internal audiences. Dealer Guidance and Engagement Serve as a trusted resource for LMC Dealers evaluating technology purchases, vendor options, and software programs. Help dealers understand available LMC technology programs, compare solutions, and connect with appropriate vendors. Coordinate logistics and communications for software-specific user groups for LMC Dealers, including planning topics, recruiting participants, organizing meetings, and capturing follow-up actions. Gather dealer feedback, technology pain points, and purchasing trends to inform portfolio strategy and vendor negotiations. Support dealer communications, webinars, events, and educational content related to technology purchasing opportunities. Other duties as required or assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Technology, Information Systems, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience required. 3-5 years of experience in sales, account management, business development, procurement, technology sales, or a related role. Demonstrated ability to build vendor relationships, negotiate commercial terms, and manage programs that drive measurable value. Comfort evaluating and presenting technology solutions, including software platforms, SaaS products, and digital business tools. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technology concepts clearly to non-technical audiences. Comfort working in an LMC dealer-focused environment where listening, responsiveness, and trust are critical. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple vendors, programs, timelines, and follow-up activities. Curiosity about technology and a practical understanding of how software can improve business operations. Confidence leading vendor conversations, product demos, dealer meetings, and group discussions. Ability to balance sales-style relationship building with disciplined program management and financial follow-through. Experience in the lumber, building materials, distribution, retail, construction, or cooperative purchasing environment is a plus. #J-18808-Ljbffr LMC
