Experienced Family Law Paralegal Chariot Law (formerly The Law Office of Emily A. Jones, LLC) is a woman-owned law firm specializing in family law and criminal defense, and we have an immediate opening for an experienced, full-time Family Law Paralegal in our Greenwood Village office. We are actively growing, and we are looking for someone who wants to grow with us. This is a full-time, in-person position at our Greenwood Village office. Family law is collaborative, fast-moving, and often high-conflict. Our paralegals work closely with attorneys, clients, experts, and one another, and we have built an office where people can actually walk down the hall, solve a problem together, and keep the case moving. We are a modern law firm that takes the work seriously without making the practice of law harder than it needs to be. We all chat about cases and actually hang out with one another. We are fully digital, highly organized, and intentional about using technology and strong systems to eliminate unnecessary administrative work and inefficiency. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who already understands litigation and can step into an active family law practice with confidence. You do not need to fit an arbitrary number of "years of experience." We care much more about what you know how to do. Our ideal candidate is organized, resourceful, responsive, comfortable dealing with demanding deadlines and difficult personalities, and capable of seeing what needs to happen next without waiting to be told each step. You should be someone who takes pride in your work product, catches the details other people miss, communicates well with clients and attorneys, and wants to be trusted with meaningful responsibility. Prior Colorado family law experience is strongly preferred, particularly experience with contested domestic relations litigation. Responsibilities Work closely with attorneys to manage family law cases from initial filing through final resolution. Draft pleadings, motions, notices, affidavits, discovery, disclosures, subpoenas, correspondence, parenting plans, settlement documents, and other case-related materials for attorney review. Manage discovery and mandatory financial disclosures, including organizing, reviewing, and analyzing financial and other case-related records. Prepare cases for hearings, mediations, depositions, settlement conferences, and trials. Organize exhibits, witness materials, timelines, trial notebooks, and other hearing preparation materials. Maintain mastery of case deadlines, court orders, upcoming hearings, discovery obligations, and outstanding tasks. Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients while helping attorneys keep clients informed and cases moving forward. Coordinate with opposing counsel, court staff, experts, investigators, evaluators, and other professionals involved in our cases. Assist with Colorado e-filing and ensure filings and case files are accurate, complete, and organized. Identify problems before they become emergencies and proactively work with the attorney and team to resolve them. Collaborate with attorneys and other paralegals rather than operating in a silo. Qualifications Meaningful experience working as a paralegal or in a comparable substantive legal-support role. Family law experience is strongly preferred. Candidates with substantial litigation experience in another practice area who are confident they can transition into family law are also encouraged to apply. Strong drafting, proofreading, organizational, and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple active matters, competing deadlines, and shifting priorities without losing track of the details. Comfort working directly with clients during stressful and emotionally difficult circumstances. Strong judgment and the ability to distinguish between something you can handle independently and something that needs an attorney's attention. Confidence using technology and learning new systems. A genuine willingness to be part of a team. And perhaps most importantly, we are looking for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work. We can teach our systems, but we are seeking someone who demonstrates sound judgment, reliability, accountability, and a strong commitment to excellence.
