Schedule: Day Shift – 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
Shift Pattern: 3x12s
Hours: 36 Hours per Week
Days: Monday–Sunday (Rotating Schedule)

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience
• Current AHA BLS Certification required
• ACLS Certification required
• PALS Certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Certification required
• Cerner experience required
• No local candidates within 50 miles of the facility

Preferred Qualifications

• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) Certification preferred

Department Overview

This is a high-volume General Emergency Department with an average daily census of approximately 113 patients per day . The facility holds:

• Emergency Cardiac Care (ECC) Certification
• Stroke Center Certification

Job Summary

The Emergency Department Registered Nurse provides comprehensive, evidence-based care to patients presenting with a wide range of medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological, traumatic, and emergent conditions. The RN is responsible for rapid assessment, intervention, stabilization, and coordination of care in a fast-paced emergency setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform rapid patient assessments and prioritize care using triage principles
• Administer medications, treatments, and emergency interventions as indicated
• Monitor and evaluate patient conditions, responding promptly to changes
• Provide care for patients with medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological, and trauma-related emergencies
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and multidisciplinary teams
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation within Cerner
• Adhere to all departmental, regulatory, and patient safety standards

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience
• Strong critical thinking and emergency response skills
• Experience managing high patient volumes in a fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with stroke and cardiac emergency protocols
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical records

Additional Information

• 13-week travel assignment
• Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM–7:00 PM
• 36 hours per week
• High-volume Emergency Department averaging 113 patients daily
• ECC and Stroke Center certified facility
