Description:
A professional nurse is accountable for the care of a group of patients.
The Registered Nurse (RN) focuses on safe, effective, patient and family-centered care, customer satisfaction, and quality outcomes.
The RN is responsible for assisting in maintaining a financially stable unit.
The RN promotes personal development with an emphasis on evidence-based practice and education.
The RN supervises licensed and non-licensed staff members.
The RN is responsible for assessing, developing, implementing, and evaluating the plan of care.
The RN focuses on patient and family comforts, education, and satisfaction.
The RN applies educational and professional experiences in the delivery of quality care and in mentoring/precepting staff.


Job Responsibilities:
- Performs assessments and reassessments per policy and procedure or as warranted by patient condition.
- Demonstrates the ability to make sound independent decisions.
- Initiates, prioritizes, and implements the plan of care, reviewing and revising it as indicated.
- Collaborates with patient/family and interdisciplinary services, utilizing resources appropriately.
- Monitors and documents responses to clinical interventions.
- Facilitates, coordinates, provides, and evaluates education specific to patient/family needs.
- Delegates tasks to licensed and non-licensed personnel.
- Functions as a mentor/preceptor.
- Demonstrates, encourages, and facilitates teamwork.
- Identifies and communicates opportunities for improvement.
- Participates in quality, safety, and service process improvement efforts.
- Complies with regulatory standards.
