Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) – Acute Care

Assignment Details

Shift: Day Shift – 5x8 Hours
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Location: Lafayette, Indiana
Weekend Requirement: At least one weekend per month

Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for an acute care hospital setting in Lafayette, Indiana. The ideal candidate will have experience working with hospitalized patients in a fast-paced rehabilitation environment and will collaborate closely with Physical Therapists and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to support patient recovery and mobility goals.

RequirementsExperience

Minimum 1 year of PTA experience required
First-time travelers accepted

Required Certifications & Licensure

BLS required
Active Indiana PTA license required at time of submission
Pending licenses not accepted

Responsibilities

Assist Physical Therapists in implementing treatment plans
Provide therapeutic exercises and mobility training
Monitor patient progress and report changes to supervising therapists
Educate patients on exercises, mobility techniques, and safety precautions
Document treatments and patient responses accurately in Cerner
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support patient recovery goals
