Occupational Health Nurse

Overview We are seeking a skilled nurse to provide occupational health services for our manufacturing facility. The Occupational Health Nurse will be responsible for managing workplace injuries and illnesses, promoting employee health and safety, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting our workforce in maintaining optimal health and productivity. B-Shift Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 12:00pm - 8:30pm Responsibilities Injury and Illness Management Provide immediate first aid and medical treatment for work-related injuries and illnesses. Assess injuries to determine appropriate treatment, referral to outside medical care, or emergency response. Support workers’ compensation team from initial injury through return-to-work. Conduct follow‑up care and monitor healing process for injured employees. Keep supplies stocked, organized and compliant. May participate in review and investigation reporting. Health Programs and Compliance Conduct pre‑employment physicals and drug screening, and return‑to‑work assessments. Perform health screenings including respirator fit testing, hearing conservation, flu shots and other related programs. Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and company policies. Complete and maintain required injury/illness documentation. Safety and Prevention Collaborate with safety team to identify workplace hazards and implement preventative measures. Provide health and safety education to employees. Qualifications Skills and Abilities Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent communications skills with all levels of employees. Proficient with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records systems. Demonstrated Competencies Ability to build trust and rapport with diverse employee populations. Conflict resolution, problem solving and ability to determine root cause analysis. Vital signs assessment and interpretation. Recognizing signs of medical emergencies and coordinating proper response. Physical Requirements Ability to respond quickly to emergency situations. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying noise levels and temperatures. Capable of lifting and positioning injured employees. Experience: Current license in state of Nebraska required; Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska highly desirable, occupational health or emergency/urgent care experience preferred.
