Senior Data Center Network Engineer

Salary: $130,000 - 160,000 per year Requirements:

• We need at least 5 years of hands-on enterprise networking experience.
• We are looking for strong experience with HP/HPE AOS-CX switching and WatchGuard firewalls.
• You should be able to diagnose and resolve complex network outages and performance problems.
• You need a solid grasp of enterprise and data-center network architecture.
• You should understand IPv4 well and have working knowledge of IPv6.
• Experience with routing protocols and technologies such as BGP, MBGP, and OSPF is required.
• You should have a strong command of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking, including 802.1Q VLANs.
• You need experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting IPSec VPNs.
• You should understand firewall architecture, policy administration, NAT, routing, and network security.
• Experience with network segmentation and micro-segmentation concepts is important.
• You should understand data-center, public-cloud, Internet, and WAN connectivity.
• You need the ability to analyze packet flows, routing behavior, latency, and other advanced network conditions.
• You should be able to evaluate network architecture and recommend improvements for performance, redundancy, security, and scalability.
• Strong documentation and change-management discipline is required.
• You must be able to work independently and own technical issues through resolution.
• You need to stay effective during high-priority incidents and outages.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, along with the ability to work effectively with technical teams, vendors, and leadership.
• A bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Network Engineering, or a related field is preferred, or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience.
• You should have a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible enterprise networking experience.
• You need demonstrated experience supporting business-critical production network infrastructure.

• We own the architecture, configuration, operation, and continuous improvement of our data-center network environment.
• We design and deliver network solutions focused on availability, scalability, performance, security, and operational simplicity.
• We manage data-center switching, routing, firewalls, VPNs, segmentation, and related network services.
• We serve as the senior technical point of contact for network incidents, outages, performance concerns, and complex troubleshooting.
• We lead incident diagnosis and service restoration efforts, including root-cause analysis and prevention recommendations.
• We plan and carry out maintenance, firmware updates, configuration changes, hardware replacements, and infrastructure refreshes.
• We maintain and administer HP/HPE AOS-CX switching, WatchGuard firewalls, Aruba Fabric Composer, and related networking platforms.
• We monitor network health, capacity, availability, and performance, and proactively identify risks or constraints.
• We develop recommendations to improve network optimization, resilience, capacity, and future architecture.
• We manage routing and connectivity across data centers, offices, Internet providers, cloud environments, and external networks.
• We implement and maintain security controls such as firewalls, VLANs, VPNs, segmentation, and micro-segmentation.
• We keep network diagrams, configurations, standards, procedures, inventories, and operational documentation accurate and current.
• We establish and follow configuration management, change control, testing, and rollback processes.
• We coordinate with telecom providers, data-center providers, hardware manufacturers, software vendors, and other third parties as needed.
• We participate in scheduled after-hours maintenance and respond to critical network incidents when required.
• We collaborate with Infrastructure, Security, Support, and other technology teams to align network design with broader platform and business needs.
• We assess emerging networking technologies and recommend changes that improve reliability, security, performance, scalability, or efficiency.
• We maintain a high standard of professionalism, security awareness, documentation, and operational discipline.
• We perform other related infrastructure and networking duties as needed.

We are ProCirrus, and we are seeking a Senior Data Center Network Engineer to take primary ownership of our data-center networking environment. This is a hands-on senior role focused on keeping our network highly available, scalable, secure, well documented, and operationally resilient.
