REPORTS TO: Youth Services Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: The Youth Prevention & Care Specialist provides holistic services to minor victims of human trafficking and youth at risk. This includes prevention education, crisis stabilization, case management, and coordination of trauma-informed care. The role emphasizes both proactive prevention and responsive care, ensuring youth and their families receive the support they need.

Job Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: All positions at AncoraTN interact with survivors of human trafficking from day to day. This issue is sensitive and complex. Every employee is trained in trauma-informed and strength-based approaches in order to connect with and build appropriate and encouraging relationships with survivors. Provides case management, advocacy, and education for youth and their family system using person-centered relational skills, leveraging peer networks and community resources to help navigate the complexities of the human trafficking experience.  Provides prevention, advocacy, and education for youth and their family system using person-centered relational skills, leveraging peer networks and community resources to help navigate the complexities of the human trafficking experience.   Comply with agency policy and procedures, maintaining all required documentation, including reporting for grants, in a professional and timely manner.  Work closely with the ATN clinical team to ensure trafficked youth have access to trauma-informed mental health services.  Respond on-scene (law enforcement, healthcare) to provide crisis intervention and victim advocacy while offering long-term community-based services to youth and caregivers.  Communicates, coordinates, and works closely with law enforcement, department of children services and other state and local agencies, collaborative partners, and multi-disciplinary team members for case management and response.  Communicating, conferring with, and coordinating care for clients with other direct services team members.  Offer individual & group prevention programming at residential facilities, social service agencies, schools, and criminal justice serving organizations.   Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; researching best practices; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.  Carry out duties assigned by Supervisor and/or Chief Programs Officer

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is carried out primarily in an office setting with intermittent sitting, standing, walking and some light physical activity. Most work is performed while sitting and using the computer, phone and engaged in face-to-face conversation with staff and/or clients. Some car travel and use of personal vehicle is required. This position is also in a on-call rotation.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS: BSW required; MSW preferred. Bilingual highly encouraged.  Experience in case management and experience working with trauma, substance abuse, sexual exploitation, victim assistance, child protective services, youth in foster care or human trafficking populations.  Possesses the ability to effectively build and maintain collaborative relationships with individuals from a wide range of backgrounds.  Holds strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.  Approaches work in a people-oriented, entrepreneurial, adaptable, and innovative way.  Brings passion, idealism, integrity, a positive attitude, and a mission-driven, self-directed work.  Works with persistence and flexibility, maintaining the ability to multitask and prioritize.   Maintains willingness to stay abreast of and use new skills and knowledge brought about by rapidly changing information and/or technology.  Maintains confidentiality, as required by law and in the best interests of survivors, staff and organization.  Ability and willingness to work irregular hours as needed.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Initial and subsequent random drug screening is required as per agency policy. A background check is required. Must be willing and able to embrace and exemplify our core values.

JOB TYPE: Full-time, typically Monday-Friday 8am-4pm (willing to work some evening and weekend hours, as needed). Travel throughout the 29 counties of Middle Tennessee is required. Mileage is reimbursed.

Benefits

Base Salary: $50,000.00 – $53,000.00

Benefits: Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance. Eligible after 30 days of employment. $150.00/ month for therapy 120 hours PTO accrued 10 hours/ month. Eligible after 30 days of employment. 96 hours sick leave accrued 4 hours/ pay period. Eligible after 30 days of employment. 13 paid holidays 4 floating holidays Short term disability, Long term disability, AD&D and Life insurance Employer 403b match up to 1% of salary based on employee contributions and dependent on annual board vote. Eligible after 6 months of employment
