Avionics Technician

Job Title: Avionics Technician – 1051 Location: Statesville, NC Employment: Full Time, On‑Site What you can expect as an Avionics Maintenance Technician at West Star As an Avionics Technician, you will troubleshoot and repair avionics units to component level and support aircraft systems. You Will Be ESSENTIAL To Many FUNCTIONS Perform general avionics support on aircraft, including removal and installation of panels, components and repair work. Troubleshoot and evaluate systems on the aircraft as designated. Inspect and evaluate aircraft and components as designated. Verify aircraft movement and performance of systems. Maintain and repair shop facility, equipment, and tooling to support operations. Collaborate with customers in project management, pricing, and support roles. Work independently on projects. Perform any other job‑related duties assigned by a supervisor or manager. Communicate effectively in English (speaking, writing, reading). Use basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases. Your Education High school diploma or equivalent. Electronics or Avionics factory training is preferred. A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal but not mandatory. Your Experience 1+ years of experience on avionics repair or installations is preferred. Handling customers and working with minimal supervision is required. Your Sense Of Responsibility Attend work every scheduled day, including overtime and weekend assignments. Notify supervisor in advance if unable to work. Maintain reliable transportation to and from work. Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines. Follow all company and safety rules during performance of duties. Maintain customer‑oriented work habits. Physical Requirements Lifts 50 lbs. Routine walking, bending, squatting or sitting. Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands. Standing for long periods of time. Climb ladders and stairs, work in small restricted areas. Basic computer skills. Mental Requirements Understand and implement regulations and guidelines. Troubleshoot, evaluate and perform functional tests for various avionics and instrument systems. Work with others in a professional manner. Supervision Work under the supervision of the assigned Avionics Team Leader. Working Conditions Work is performed in a hangar environment with extreme temperature variations, sometimes outdoors during aircraft runs, and in varied positions around the aircraft. Equipment Used Personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic. Pneumatic, hydraulic and electrical equipment. Jacks, stands, lifts and other support devices.
