Job Summary:
The Medical Surgical Floor Nurse position is located in Decatur, TX. This role involves providing care on the Med Surg Specialty 4th Floor and Med Surg 5th Floor units, with a focus on telemetry monitoring and patient management. Candidates are required to bring their licensed credentials on the first day.

Job Details:

• Required Qualifications: Valid ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), NIH Stroke Scale certification; telemetry experience; Med Surg experience; ability to start IVs; excellent time management skills; currently hold an active license.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in cardiac recognition and IV starts considered a plus.
• Schedule: Night shift and day shift options available, with weekend shifts required. No on-call responsibilities; schedules are subject to attendance policies.
• Additional Information: There is one charge nurse per floor. Staffing includes RNs, LVNs, PCTs, and a unit secretary when staffing allows. Patient ratios are 5:1 on the Med Surg Specialty 4th Floor and 6:1 on the 5th Floor. Equipment used includes remote telemetry, capnography, Alaris IV pumps, glucometers, and dynamaps. The role involves mandatory floating to inpatient rehab, emergency department, and progressive care units within scope. Currently, staff wear black scrubs, transitioning to Medical City Blue scrubs.
