Job Summary:
Step Down Unit Nurse - Kearney, Nebraska. This role involves providing specialized care for adult patients in a dedicated step down setting. The position requires a team-oriented healthcare professional capable of adapting to a dynamic hospital environment and delivering high-quality patient care.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week, starting on 08/31/2026
• Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certifications, minimum of 2 years of experience in a related setting, and the ability to work in Nebraska.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience in step down or progressive care units, proficiency with electronic medical records, and strong communication skills.
• Additional Information: This role involves caring for adult patients with a variety of diagnoses including cardiac, respiratory, post-surgical, and other medical conditions. The unit averages 24 patients with a staffing ratio of 1:4-5 during the day and night shifts. RNs are required to interpret telemetry strips, titrate certain drips (such as Heparin, Nitro, Dopamine), and respond to high-flow oxygen needs. Floating to MedSurg or ICU may be required. The dress code is Navy Blue, and the unit utilizes EPIC charting system. The initial orientation includes a one-day department-specific training. Flexibility, strong communication, and teamwork are essential qualities.
