Clin Lab Technologist I - Microbiologist

Department/Unit: Microbiology Work Shift: Day (United States of America) Salary Range: $59,066.00 - $88,599.00 Responsibilities Utilize knowledge and clinical laboratory experience to perform testing in an accurate and timely manner. Perform tests that aid clinicians in detection and diagnosis of disease and/or monitor the progress of defined illnesses or treatments initiated by a physician. Execute independent judgment and responsibility with minimal supervision. Compile reports of test results on laboratory specimens. Document test results thoroughly, accurately, and legibly, and perform quality control activities. Maintain effective written and verbal communication skills to cooperate with customers and employees. Perform maintenance and quality control procedures. Operate automated equipment and instruments, as well as microscopes, cell counters, and other sophisticated laboratory equipment. Adhere to the department’s Chemical Hygiene Plan and be aware of potential exposure to infectious and hazardous chemicals. Qualifications Qualified by education, training, and experience in relevant specialties or subspecialties. Exercise independent judgment and responsibility with minimal supervision. Experience using laboratory instrumentation and quality control processes. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of handling hazardous and infectious materials.
