Senior Research Associate/Associate Scientist, Analytical Development (Contractor)

Asimov seeks a Senior Research Associate or Associate Scientist (Contractor) for a 6-month engagement in analytical development. The role involves executing biophysical screening assays and product-quality analytics for cell line development programs, characterizing engineered proteins to support candidate selection.
Responsibilities
- Execute biophysical screening assays including HIC, AC-SINS, DSF, ELISA, and SEC to generate candidate ranking data
- Perform routine product-quality analytics for cell line development programs, including sample prep and HPLC/capillary electrophoresis assays
- Manage high-throughput sample processing in 96-well format with system suitability checks and reference standard handling
- Partner with method owners on assay installation, qualification, and transition to independent routine execution
- Communicate analytical insights to cross-functional teams and maintain accurate records per GLP standards
Requirements
- B.S. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, or related field with 3+ years lab experience; or M.S. with 1-2 years experience
- Hands-on expertise with plate-based assays, microplate readers, and HPLC/UPLC separations
- Experience with 96-well high-throughput format and small-scale protein sample preparation
- Proficiency in troubleshooting analytical instruments and methods with proactive problem-solving
- Strong data interpretation skills and ability to communicate analytical results clearly
- Exposure to biophysical characterization methods (DSF, AC-SINS, HIC) or label-free binding assays preferred
- Familiarity with automated liquid handling systems and GLP/safety protocols
