Custodian - Custodial Department - School Year

Job TitleFollow routine cleaning and maintenance procedures to maintain the district's standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations and grounds.QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED preferred.Job Requirements- Ability to maintain a high level of cleanliness and attention to detail.- Strong time management skills to complete tasks efficiently.- Physical stamina to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects if required.- Good communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.- Exhibits good judgment in decision making and problem solving.- Demonstrates proper equipment care, proper use of equipment, and maintenance.- Follows all safety procedures and district standards.- Assists with opening and/or closing buildings each school day.- Follow established procedures for locking, checking, and safeguarding facilities.- Represents a positive role model for students and conveys a positive image for staff and community.Working Conditions- Posture: Frequent standing, kneeling/squatting, repeated bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting. Motion: Frequent walking, climbing stairs/ladders, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, reaching, and overhead reaching.- Lifting: Heavy lifting and carrying (45 pounds and over) on a daily basis.- Environment: Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to extreme hot and cold temperatures, excessive humidity; exposure to dust, toxic chemicals and materials; regularly work irregular hours; occasional prolonged hours; work on ladders; work alone, work with others, and wear a safety belt.- Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress.Wage/Hour Status: Non-ExemptPay Grade: Auxiliary 1Reports to: Director of OperationsNote: This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
