Electronics Engineer III, Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE)

Lead Electronics Engineer The Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program is seeking a Lead Electronics Engineer to join the Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) team. Location This position does not support teleworking; you will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Cape Canaveral, FL and be expected to work a flexible 9x80 schedule in the office full-time. What does this role look like? You will support FBM LE refresh and design update projects for Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE). Use your strong electrical engineering skills to work with all project partners and define the future for FBM! Key activities you will accomplish in this role: Participate in requirements analysis, configuration determination, design, alterations, material procurement, manufacturing, test and acceptance for a wide variety of electrical and electromechanical test systems and multifunction integrated test equipment in support of the US Navy’s Ballistic Missile Flight Test Program. Mentor Junior engineers, interface extensively with our customers, as well as senior leadership. Create/update project/process documentation that align to project requirements. Lead the design, procurement, assembly, test and verification of automated test systems, including data review, error analysis, integration and troubleshooting. Develop hardware requirements from subsystem to all locally assigned support equipment test systems. Interface with suppliers, customers and internal design teams to provide cost‑effective and low‑risk solutions. Develop test system design documentation to communicate proposed designs to internal design and business teams, vendors and customers. To be effective in this role, you will need: Experience in both design and test of electrical hardware. 3+ years professional experience. While no clearance is needed to start, you will need to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance. US Citizenship is required. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline from an accredited College or University. Hardware development experience. Experience with product life cycle (development, deployment, retirement). Strong technical background with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) or other similar systems. Previous experience as a certified principal engineer or product subject matter expert on integrated hardware equipment. Desired Skills Experience in Windchill, Zuken, CREO. Experience working on project teams and development efforts. Capability to lead a team responsible for development and test of integrated test systems, and experience as Subject Matter Engineer or equivalent. Demonstrated ability to lead/coordinate with small diverse teams in development of tech products. Experience reading schematic diagrams and other technical documentation. Requirements decomposition and technical proficiency. Must be able to work autonomously and drive items to closure. Issue Tracking experience. Experience troubleshooting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Security Clearance Statement This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
