Payroll Representative

Salary: $17.25- $25.86

SUMMARY

The Payroll Representative is responsible for processing weekly payroll for associates to generate weekly paychecks, process payroll deductions, and report payroll activity.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Process weekly payroll.
• Verify and input prior week adjustments.
• Answer phone calls from associates and stores. Resolve issues called in or elevate issues to supervisor.
• Set-up wage attachments.
• Process various reports associated with wage attachments and make payments.
• Calculate retro payments based on old rate/new rate supplied by HR Department.
• Verify certain post-payroll processing reports for accuracy.
• Format all reports provided from the vendor and move onto company drives so they can be retrieved later.
• Delete arrear amounts from list received from Benefits.
• Set up direct deposits for associates.
• Process tax and deduction changes.
• Complete weekly and monthly wire payments.
• Complete associate verifications of employment not handled by third-party vendors.
• Assist in processing tax payments/reports weekly and quarterly.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Proficiency in a PC environment (MS Word, Excel) strongly preferred
• Strong organizational & communication skills
• Strong customer service skills

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• High school diploma or equivalent experience
• One year of payroll experience preferred
