8 SOUTHEAST (STEPDOWN)

Job Details:

• Work 12-hour night shifts with holidays and weekends as scheduled
• Weekend requirement includes 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule (Saturday, Sunday, Saturday)
• Holiday work required when needed
• No call or standby requirements
• Patient ratio of 1:3-4 (stepdown assignments are 1:3, combo assignments are 1:4)
• Must have strong MedSurg Stepdown experience
• Must be able to titrate drips with specific parameters as ordered by physicians
• Must be able to read and interpret cardiac strips
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• 3 shifts of unit orientation provided
• Charting system: EPIC
• BSN not required
• Dress code: Royal Blue scrubs
• Floating would be very rare
• Cancellation policy allows 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• Care for post-surgical thoracic and medicine patients
• Work with common titratable drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dopamine, Nitro, Esmolol, Heparin, and Lasix
• Interpret and chart patient rhythm with assessment every 4 hours or more often with medication titration
• Work on 32-bed unit with 3-4 CNAs per shift and centralized telemetry support

This healthcare facility operates a comprehensive stepdown unit providing intermediate care for patients requiring close monitoring between intensive care and general medical floors. The facility features advanced telemetry monitoring systems with centralized interpretation services and maintains high-quality post-surgical and medical care standards. The organization utilizes modern technology including EPIC charting systems and provides thorough orientation programs for new staff members.
