Inventory Specialist

Job Title: Inventory Specialist Job Description
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting warehouse operations. This role involves monitoring inventory levels, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and operating a sit-down forklift. The specialist will also stage products for shipment and assist with palletizing activities to ensure efficient material flow throughout the facility.
Responsibilities

• Perform cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
• Research and resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Receive, verify, and process incoming materials.
• Operate a sit-down forklift to transport, stage, and store inventory safely.
• Stage products for production, shipping, and customer orders.
• Assist with palletizing finished goods and preparing shipments.
• Move materials throughout the warehouse as needed.
• Load and unload trucks safely and efficiently.
• Monitor inventory locations and maintain warehouse organization.
• Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and/or ERP systems to track inventory.
• Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.

Essential Skills

• Previous inventory control, warehouse, or logistics experience preferred.
• Experience operating a sit-down forklift required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Basic computer skills and experience with inventory management systems.
• Ability to accurately count, track, and reconcile inventory.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a warehouse environment.
• Dependable attendance and strong problem-solving abilities.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with cycle counting and inventory reconciliation.
• Knowledge of warehouse operations, shipping, receiving, and inventory control processes.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment
The work takes place in a warehouse/distribution/construction environment, with multiple shift options available: Shift A (5): 6am-6:30pm Sun-Wed, Shift B (5): 6am-6:30pm Wed-Sat, Shift C (3): 6pm-6:30am Sun-Wed, and Shift D (6): 6pm-6:30am Wed-Sun.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Southaven, MS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
