About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: PACU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 08:00 - 16:30 Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: 2 years minimum experience required in critical care, preoperative, and EPIC experience preferred. License: RN License in state of TX or compact required. Certifications: Current BLS certification required. Current ACLS certification required. Current PALS certification required. Must-Have: 2 years minimum experience in related nursing specialty. Experience in critical care, preoperative, and EPIC preferred. Description: The competent Nurse practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. Provides routine and complex care, with the ability to focus on long-range goals or plans. Continues to develop the ability to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing. Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers in order to manage the clinical situation. Meets expectations of the applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Consistent with the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients. Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with their level of practice. Using appropriate protocols, administers medications and treatments; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments. Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care given. Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.
