Facilities Specialist

Job Title

This is a fully onsite role based at our 2710 Innovation Way site in Greenfield, IN. We welcome applicants from all locations within the US.

Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship. Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screening.

Job Description

Provides lead site support through the coordination and performance of diverse activities related to laboratory and site services, building or equipment maintenance, shipping and receiving supply chain functions, and/or project development as assigned.

A Day in the Life

• Coordinates and performs multiple and at times complex facilities support services which may include building security issues and access system maintenance, shipping and receiving, distribution of mail to employees, furniture and equipment moves, and the coordination of transportation services.
• May perform advanced or specialized building or equipment maintenance tasks including the completion of work orders, scheduled maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repairs.
• Ensures key roles in facilities are supported in an accountable and professional manner.
• Assigns and oversees day-to-day activities of facility support staff. Issues schedules, delegates, reviews and checks work.
• Establishes and implements function processes.
• Makes recommendations and may be responsible for execution of service delivery and process improvement.
• Coordinates documentation to comply with Quality Assurance (QA) requirements and Change Control processes.
• Responds to facility-related emergencies, as assigned.
• May cross-train or mentor department staff or contractors.

Keys to Success

• High / Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification
• Technical positions may require a certificate
• Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 6 years).

In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite
• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and balance priorities
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Basic understanding of building systems (mechanical, electrical, security, etc.)
• Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical and/or light general construction may be required
• Positive attitude and ability to work well with others
• Comfort with ambiguity and effectiveness during periods of uncertainty and change
• Ability to create organizational consistency in processes, e.g. record keeping, document forwarding and SOP requirements

• Able to communicate, receive, and understand information and ideas with diverse groups of people in a comprehensible and reasonable manner
• Able to work upright and stationary and/or standing for typical working hours
• Able to lift and move objects of 15 to 40 pounds
• Able to work in non-traditional work environments
• Able to use and learn standard office equipment and technology with proficiency
• May have exposure to potentially hazardous elements, including infectious agents, typically found in healthcare or laboratory environments
• Able to perform successfully under pressure while prioritizing and handling multiple projects or activities
• Exposure to fluctuating and/or extreme temperatures on rare occasions
