What You'll Be DoingDesign & Engineering Develop designs for overhead and underground electrical distribution projects. Create detailed construction drawings, sketches, and project packages. Support projects involving cable replacements, system upgrades, new customer connections, and reliability improvements. Ensure designs meet client standards, company procedures, and safety requirements. Field Work & Data Collection Visit project sites to gather measurements and field data. Conduct visual inspections and document existing conditions. Record equipment inventories and site information using electronic tools. Use field observations to support practical, buildable designs. Project Coordination Collaborate with engineers, designers, project managers, and utility stakeholders. Work closely with customers, developers, contractors, and local agencies. Maintain accurate project documentation and update GIS records. Support multiple projects while meeting deadlines and quality expectations. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications Associate degree in a design-related field or 2+ years of design/drafting experience. Strong AutoCAD experience. Experience creating technical drawings and construction documentation. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Ability to perform occasional field visits and site assessments. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities. Preferred Qualifications Experience with electrical distribution design. Familiarity with overhead and underground utility systems. Experience using: MicroStation GNetviewer Expert Designer BOUD GIS / Esri-based tools Katapult Engineering Technology or Engineering degree. Knowledge of transformers, permitting processes, and utility design standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Indianapolis, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
