Staff Technical Delivery Manager

Role Description

Join BILL as a Staff Technical Delivery Manager on our Engineering Enablement team. This team is the operational backbone for BILL's engineering organization:

• Each TDM partners directly with engineering leadership to keep high-priority programs moving.
• Maintain visibility across delivery risk.
• Translate technical progress into clear, actionable communication for cross-functional stakeholders.

The work spans BILL's most critical engineering surfaces, from the payments infrastructure to platform services and AI systems.

In this role you will:

• Own end-to-end execution of complex, cross-functional programs across multiple engineering orgs.
• Build relationships with engineering leads and VPs.
• Maintain a clear view of active program status and delivery risk.
• Bring the right level of structure to fast-moving environments.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end execution of high-priority programs across engineering orgs.
• Maintain a current view of program status, milestones, dependencies, and delivery risks.
• Partner with engineering leads and VPs on program scoping, sequencing, and milestone tracking.
• Build and maintain operating cadences including planning cycles, program reviews, and status reporting.
• Translate technical progress and delivery risks into clear, actionable communication.
• Identify misalignments across teams and escalate with context and a recommended path forward.
• Use AI tooling and program management platforms to reduce operational overhead.

Qualifications

• 5 or more years in technical program management, software engineering, or a closely related field.
• Solid command of the software development lifecycle.
• Technical acumen at a systems level.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to influence without authority across engineering, product, and finance.
• Comfort moving between different engineering contexts and teams.
• Proven experience using AI tooling and program management platforms.
• Excellent organization skills and expert level knowledge in productivity and work management tooling.
• Practical knowledge and experience with OKR setting and tracking.

Desired Qualifications

• Background in software engineering, particularly candidates who have grown toward program or product leadership.
• Experience at a scaling fintech or SaaS company.
• Familiarity with payments infrastructure, platform engineering, or AI and ML development cycles.
• Demonstrated use of AI tooling to reduce operational overhead.
