Banquet Captain

PM Shift, Part Time Available The Banquet Captain is primarily responsible for supervising the banquet staff and coordinating all food and beverage services within the banquet department. Some primary responsibilities are to train the banquet team and oversee the enforcement of hotel standards. Duties and responsibilities include meeting and greeting guests in a friendly and warm manner, coordinating with the event host on all aspects of the banquet function, performing planning and organization functions for the banquet department, checking banquet rooms, service, and kitchen areas for cleanliness and proper set up, overseeing all aspects of assigned banquet function activities, planning the event course and orchestrating its completion in a timely, quiet, and courteous manner, supervising and training staff in setting up and breaking down assigned banquet rooms, assisting in conducting pre-shift and pre-function meetings, and actively participating in the setup of banquet rooms and service of food and beverage to guests.

Qualifications include experience in a hotel or resort Banquet Department as a Banquet Captain or Lead Banquet Server in a more extensive operation, excellent customer service and supervisory skills, the ability to read and comprehend company documents, the ability to write simple correspondence, the ability to communicate fluently in English with complete comprehension and understanding, the ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, lifting and moving up to 50 pounds, and the ability to respond quickly and accurately to guest requests and work as part of a team.
