During the past decade, we’ve provided assurance, tax, and consulting services to more than 330 unique tribal clients representing more than 130 different tribes. Our growing Tribal Consulting Services practice is a collaborative group that is committed to providing superior client service through strong relationships and high value deliverables. The Staff role will provide outstanding service to our Tribal clients by delivering a variety of ongoing accounting services as well as grant management functions.Individuals who thrive at Baker Tilly exhibit the following success skills – Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Emotional Intelligence, Executive Presence, Growth Mindset, Intellectual Curiosity, and Results Focus.Responsibilities:Provides operational, accounting, and consulting services for Tribal governments, that include monthly closing, grants management, grant reporting, and financial reportingPrepares and records journal entriesDevelops policies and procedures on key accounting mattersPerform project start up activities, such as following project work plans, adhering to schedules, and attending kickoff meetingsReviews the work of self for accuracyServes as an integral member of our Business Consulting Services teamOccasionally travels to client locations, firm trainings, or industry conferencesQualifications:Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; emphasis in Accounting or related field preferredMinimum of 1 year of related experience, not for profit and/or governmental experience preferredExperience in one or more of the following preferred: grants management, financial accounting including account reconciliation, governmental accounting standards implementation, and/or accounts payable processingStrong verbal and written communication skills including proven commitment to providing exceptional client service via multiple communication methods (email, phone, chat, helpdesk ticket system, etc.)Ability to understand problems, think critically and identify creative solutionsEffective time management and organizational skills, proven ability to prioritize while simultaneously managing numerous projects/processes often under tight deadlinesWorks independently to prioritize work, establish goals and produce quality workSelf-directed professional with strong interpersonal skillsAbility to collaborate and work effectively across functions/departments/teams while building trusted relationshipsProficient with Microsoft Office and one or more government accounting/grant management software systemsAbility to travel as needed, approximately 10-15%The pay rate ranges for this position are listed below. Actual compensation is influenced by a variety of relevant factors including but not limited to applicant’s skills, prior experience, qualifications, degrees, professional certifications, work arrangements and geographic location.
