Finance Analyst

Location: Coventry (3 days per week on-site)Day Rate: 300-350 per day (DOE)Contract: InterimThe OpportunityA growing Coventry-based business is seeking an experienced Management Accountant / Finance Analyst to support the finance function during a busy period. This role is ideally suited to a hands-on accountant who combines strong core accounting skills with the ability to develop meaningful reporting and dashboards in Power BI.The successful candidate will take ownership of management accounts, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, whilst helping improve visibility and decision-making through enhanced BI reporting.Key ResponsibilitiesProduce accurate and timely monthly management accounts.Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong financial controls.Lead month-end processes including accruals, prepayments and journals.Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards to improve financial reporting and business insight.Analyse financial performance and provide commentary to key stakeholders.Work closely with operational teams to understand costs, trends and profitability.Improve reporting processes and automate manual finance tasks where possible.Support year-end audit requirements and ad hoc finance projects.Candidate ProfileQualified, part-qualified or QBE accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).Strong management accounting background.Experience producing management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations.Working knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.Strong Power BI skills with the ability to build and enhance reports and dashboards.Advanced Excel skills.Comfortable working independently and engaging with non-finance stakeholders.Available to start at short notice.DesirableExperience within manufacturing, engineering or distribution businesses.Exposure to ERP systems and reporting improvements.Knowledge of Power Query, DAX or SQL.What's on OfferImmediate interim opportunity.Hybrid working pattern with 3 days on-site in Coventry.Broad role combining financial control, analysis and business partnering.Opportunity to make a lasting impact through improved reporting and insight.Robert Half Ltd acts as an employment business for temporary positions and an employment agency for permanent positions.
