Registered Nurse - Interventional Radiology

Deliver nursing care to interventional radiology patients across the lifespan using the nursing process Complete pre-admission consultations for invasive, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures Assess patient knowledge and provide appropriate education and literature Obtain and document pre-admission testing information Assess and monitor patients during procedures and document events chronologically Maintain controlled-substance records and follow storage protocols Assist physicians with orders and physical assessments Respond to departmental emergencies and delegate as needed Report pertinent patient information and post-procedure orders to receiving units Document follow-up calls to outpatients Organize, coordinate, and prioritize patient care using available resources Serve as a professional role model and resource for coworkers Requirements Registered Nurse with a license to practice in New Jersey or Pennsylvania, depending on work location Current CPR certification required by completion of orientation ACLS certification required by completion of orientation Ability to monitor and administer IV medications Prior computer usage required Ability to meet specified physical and sensory requirements, including lifting, pushing/pulling, standing, walking, and visual demands Completion of customized department orientation Core Competencies Demonstrates expertise in delivering nursing care to interventional radiology patients, including pre-admission consultations, patient education, and monitoring during procedures.
