Responsibilities Provide best-in-class guest service: greet guests, address questions/concerns promptly and courteously, assist with gaming needs, inform guests about promotions and the trade-in program, recommend additional items, apply selling behaviors during each transaction, and express gratitude to guests. Circulate throughout the store to prioritize guests over tasks. Support the shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, and nurture guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business. Process guest purchases and returns accurately via the Point-of-Sale (POS) system, ensuring top-notch guest service. Address guest comments or questions in person or on the phone, ensuring prompt, courteous, and professional service. Promote GameStop’s guest benefits, such as new title reservations and the Pro Rewards loyalty program. Keep store areas, including restrooms, clean, organized, and merchandised according to guidelines; ensure fixtures and equipment are in proper working order. Complete Omni-Channel orders daily. Safeguard company assets through inventory control and loss prevention practices, including scam awareness and safety procedures; handle bank deposits as required. Conduct store inventory counts, stock and restock merchandise on shelves/fixtures, and move products from stock room to selling floor to ensure representation and organization. Support management in meeting sales, profit, and shrink goals and complete required administrative duties. Count, balance, and reconcile daily POS transactions; complete closeout paperwork and bank deposits following established guidelines. Check shipments for discrepancies or shortages, record any discrepancies in the POS system, and report to the Store Manager as needed. Process defectives/recalls and stock pulls accurately, ensuring proper labeling and packing lists. Visually inspect packages and belongings at store closing or end of shift as required. Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates in the absence of management. Adhere to GameStop policies and procedures, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct. Follow opening and closing procedures and observe associate performance with timely feedback. Qualifications Must provide proof of identity and eligibility to work in the United States. Must be at least 18 years old. High school diploma or equivalent required. At least 1 year of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred. Video game knowledge preferred. Ability to work alone, stand, and move throughout the store unassisted for up to 10 hours per day. Required Job Skills and Abilities Exceptional guest service skills and genuine, friendly assistance to every guest. Clear verbal and written communication and listening skills in English; bilingual English/Spanish preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment. Meet performance expectations including attendance, professional dress, and grooming. Operate the POS system and complete required paperwork. Basic math and alphabetizing skills. Self-motivation and ability to work as part of a team to complete tasks promptly. Problem-solving and judgment abilities; follow instructions from written, oral, or diagram form. Deliver bank deposits following loss prevention safety guidelines. Flexible schedule including extended hours, nights, weekends, and some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability. Remain effective under pressure and handle stress appropriately. Physical ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb ladders, and lift up to 30 lbs from ground level to 4 feet.
