Base pay range $23.00/hr - $27.00/hr Join Pride Health as a Medical Laboratory Scientist at Charlotte, NC! This is a 3 months contract role offering a great opportunity for experience to excel in a dynamic environment. Role: Medical Laboratory Scientist Location: 1918 Randolph Rd, Charlotte, NC 28207 Shift Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Hours per Week: 40 hours Start Date: ASAP Pay Highlights: $23-27/hour (Based on years of experience) Key Responsibilities: Follow laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing, test analysis, reporting, and maintaining records. Maintain documentation showing proficiency testing samples are handled the same as patient specimens. Review and release test results. Comply with CLIA, HIPAA, OSHA, and safety guidelines. Adhere to quality control policies; document QC activities, instrument calibrations, and maintenance. Follow established procedures when test systems fall outside acceptable performance levels. Identify and resolve problems affecting test performance; escalate issues to senior staff when necessary. Document all corrective actions taken. Report STAT or critical results according to department procedure. Respond to inquiries from customers or other lab personnel (if applicable). Maintain complete testing records. Ensure department cleanliness and organization. Track reagent/test kit receipt dates, expiration dates, and opening dates. Review and train on new procedures as required. Assist during government or regulatory inspections, if needed. Qualifications: Education: Preferred: BS in Medical Technology. Acceptable Alternatives: BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology Associate’s degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Technology Previously qualified as a Technologist under 42 CFR 493.1433 (March 14, 1990) Foreign Graduates: Credential evaluation from the International Education Research Foundation (IERF). U.S. Graduates: Original transcript required. Experience: Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience in high complexity testing (for BS/BA in Chemistry or Biology). Certifications: National certification as MT/MLT from ASCP or AMT (or eligible).
