Job Description Job Title: RN - L&D Location: Amarillo, TX Duration: 3 months+ with possible extension Schedule: 7 pm to 7 am - 12hr shifts, no call required, OT available Job Description: Meeting with expectant mothers for prenatal visits and providing care for normal and problematic pregnancies. Monitoring fatal heartbeat and length and strength of contractions during labour. Coaching women, assisting with any complications, and administering medications during birth. Performing tests on newborns after birth. Providing guidance to new mothers on all aspects of recovery and infant care. Using equipment and administering medications related to labour, delivery, and the care of newborns. Patient population includes, Females of childbearing years, pregnant 17 weeks gestation, labouring, scheduled procedures (C-sections, external cephalic versions, cerclage (we try not to do these on the unit)), and Triage issues. The activity on the unit includes admissions, discharges, transfers, pre-op, and deliveries (vaginal and C/S). Common equipment used in Labor and Delivery includes Fatal Monitors, Cerner, and Feta link documentation. Requirements: BLS & ACLS – Required NRP – Required AWHONN - Intermediate electronic fatal monitoring – Required Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state/district – Required L&D Experience - Required: 3 Years #J-18808-Ljbffr
