Research Assistant

Full Time - 7am-3pm/9am-5pm

Duties and Responsibilities:

Administrative Support (30%)

1. The Research Administrative Assistant will complete basic administrative duties (data entry, filing, etc…) for the Research Department.
2. Assist Director of Research in fulfilling material and information requests, ordering office supplies, mailing letters and invitations, etc.
3. Assist in tracking budgets, credit card statements and other reports. Process payments for check requests and invoices through Finance software and file accordingly.
4. Assist with research compliance and administrative activities by maintaining research records, supporting regulatory and ethical requirements (including IRB processes), preparing documentation for audits and reviews, and ensuring research-related documents are accurate, organized, and up to date.

Research Support (70%)

1. Assist in recruitment of study participants and study projects.
2. Collect data using a variety of methods and enter data into research database(s), such as REDCap and SPSS.
3. Perform literature reviews of scholarly articles to support the development of research proposals, reports, and publications.
4. Assist in the drafting and development of research papers, reports, and presentations for academic journals, conferences, and other scholarly outlets.
5. Assist in preparing grant proposals and funding applications.

Physical Requirements:

1. Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
2. Ability to move throughout the campus as necessary to perform job duties and functions.
3. Must be able to climb stairs.
4. Sedentary work requiring sitting for sustained periods of time at desk and computer.

Education / Experience Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
2. A minimum of at least one college level course in statistics.
3. Experience in mental health or addiction treatment or research.
4. Attention to detail in work assignments.
5. Ability to handle multiple tasks and to prioritize work.
6. If in recovery, one year of continuous, uninterrupted sobriety preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Must be able to follow directions and make independent decisions when necessary.
2. Must possess good spelling and proofreading skills.
3. Familiarity with Outlook, Word, Excel, SPSS software programs.
4. Must have exceptional organizational and communications skills, as well as an ability to perform effectively in a confidential environment.
5. Must demonstrate versatility and flexibility in a busy environment.
