Job SummaryThe role of Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning and servicing guest rooms to provide an exceptional experience for guests. This position ensures that all rooms are inviting and clean to the highest standards. The Room Attendant is also expected to ensure all defects are reported promptly and appropriately.Primary Responsibilities & Essential FunctionsResponsible for a combination of check-out and stay-over cleaning services dailyTurn on lights and prepare the room for cleaningRemove and replace linens; prepare and make bedsClean and tidy bathrooms; clean and disinfect all surfacesSweep, mop, and vacuum floors; dust furnitureStock amenities and fresh towelsRemove trash and disposable clutter; collect and turn in any items left by guests according to company proceduresEnsure the security and privacy of guest roomsPerform rotation cleaning duties as requiredComplete deep cleans when and as directedEnsure the room meets company standardsAssist with any other reasonable requestsPerform all other duties as assignedEducation and ExperienceSufficient education and literacy needed to identify and read product labels and to communicate with guests about job-related needsAbility to read, write, speak, and communicate in basic English preferredPrevious housekeeping experience preferred but not requiredPrevious hospitality experience preferredKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesDetail-oriented and throughAble to perform work consistently to the highest standardsProfessional attitude is requiredAbility to interact with guests in a friendly wayAbility to remain discreet and respect the privacy of guestsAbility to follow instructionsAbility to work independentlyAbility to identify and resolve issues related to position independentlyAbility to work as a teamExcellent time management skillsFollow proper safety measures when using hazardous chemicalsBasic knowledge of proper cleaning and sanitation operationsPhysical DemandsFrequent standing, kneeling, walking, bending, stooping, pushing, and pullingMust be able to lift 20lbsWorking ConditionsIndoorExposure to hazardous chemicals (with PPE)Possible exposure to bodily wastePossible exposure to a somewhat noisy environmentThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not an exclusive list of all duties and responsibilities.
