A Day in the Role

On Monday, you’ll pull air, water, waste, and chemical handling data from our sites, translating metrics into insights that guide environmental performance. Midweek, you’re side‑by‑side with operations to fine‑tune processes—reducing waste, improving energy efficiency, and reinforcing ISO 14001 practices. You’ll review evolving regulations, refresh procedures, and prepare evidence for upcoming audits. Before week’s end, you’ll complete supplier sustainability questionnaires, verify export control documentation for ITAR, and align with procurement, quality, and sales to ensure customer forms are accurate and on time.

What You’ll Own

• Lead and support environmental and sustainability programs across regional operations, partnering closely with site teams.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations (EPA and state agencies) covering air emissions, waste management, water discharge, and chemical handling.
• Track, analyze, and report regional environmental performance metrics; set targets and steward continuous improvement plans.
• Drive initiatives that lower environmental impact: waste minimization, resource conservation, and energy efficiency.
• Implement and sustain environmental management systems (e.g., ISO 14001 or equivalent).
• Support internal and external sustainability reporting obligations for customers and regulators.
• Embed better environmental practices into manufacturing processes through close collaboration with operations.
• Advance recycling, sustainable material usage, and related circularity efforts.
• Maintain a robust compliance framework for manufacturing operations, including environmental, health, and safety requirements.
• Maintain and support ITAR compliance programs with documentation, training, and internal audits; assist with export controls and customer‑specific requirements.
• Monitor regulatory changes; communicate impacts to regional stakeholders and update procedures accordingly.
• Organize and preserve documentation to demonstrate compliance during internal and external audits.
• Participate in audits and inspections; ensure corrective and preventive actions are completed and verified.
• Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and work instructions tied to compliance and environmental practices.
• Champion a culture of compliance, environmental responsibility, and ethical conduct across the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Environmental Science, Engineering, Sustainability, or a related field preferred.
• 2–5 years in compliance, environmental, sustainability, regulatory affairs, or a manufacturing setting.
• Experience with ITAR, export controls, or government contracting strongly preferred.
• Hands‑on background in environmental compliance, reporting, or sustainability initiatives preferred.
• Familiarity with EPA and state‑level environmental regulations is highly desirable.
