Direct customers to appropriate product/ departmentOperate cash register/ Point of Sale terminalGreet customers and provide courteous customer assistance as necessaryKeep check-out area neat and cleanHandle incoming phone callsPrice or re-price merchandise as necessaryMaintain needed forms and stock for cashier areaScreen credit cards and checks before acceptanceTrain new staff in cashier responsibilitiesUnderstanding of the store's overall goals and how you fit into and affect themKnowledge of register and other equipment as requiredWatch for shoplifters and notify appropriate managementAttend store meetingsParticipate in training as directedOther tasks and responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the Department Manager, Assistant Store Manager, Store Manager, or ownersSet a positive example by following company proceduresQualifications:Lift/ move 50 lbs (low).
