Dental Assistant – Part-Time (Fridays 8 AM – 2 PM) Location: Arroyo Family Dental (North Mesa Dental Group) – Mesa, AZ Position Type: Part-Time Schedule: Fridays | 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM (Consistent 6-hour shift!) Position Overview We are seeking a reliable, positive, and energetic Dental Assistant to join our team every Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM . In this role, you will provide chairside support to Dr. Arroyo, assist with patient preparation, take digital x-rays, manage sterilization, and ensure smooth operatory turnover. Key Responsibilities Chairside Assisting & Patient Prep: Welcome and seat patients, review health histories, obtain vitals (blood pressure), and prepare them for clinical procedures. Provide efficient, attentive chairside assistance to Dr. Arroyo during general, restorative, and cosmetic dental treatments. Operatory & Instrument Management: Prepare treatment rooms with necessary trays, materials, and instruments prior to appointments. Perform thorough room breakdown, surface sanitization, and instrument sterilization following OSHA and HIPAA protocols. Radiology & Charting: Take clear digital dental x-rays as requested by the doctor. Accurately update patient charts, clinical notes, and treatment details in practice software. Team Collaboration: Bring a bright, positive attitude and a proactive "team-first" mindset to support clinical flow and peer team members. Qualifications Requirements: Minimum of 1 year of hands-on Dental Assisting experience (REQUIRED). Active Arizona Radiologic Technology / Dental X-Ray Certification. Current CPR / BLS Certification. Strong knowledge of dental instruments, chairside procedures, and sterilization protocols. Positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a strong work ethic. Preferences: Experience working in a general family dental practice setting. Proficiency with digital x-ray systems and dental practice management software. Schedule & Compensation Consistent Hours: Every Friday from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM (No late afternoons or weekends!). Hourly Pay: $20.00 – $21.00 / hour (commensurate with experience).
