Registered Nurse – Operating Room (ENT / Eye)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Days, 8-Hour Shifts (7:00–16:00), 5 days per week | 13-Week Assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide perioperative nursing care in a fast-paced ambulatory surgery center specializing in ENT and ophthalmology procedures across 6 operating rooms
• Perform scrub and/or circulating roles for ENT surgical cases including endoscopic sinus procedures, tympanoplasty, septoplasty, tonsillectomy, tracheostomy, and radical neck dissection, as well as pediatric ENT cases
• Deliver care across a broad patient age range including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Execute emergency management protocols including code response, fire safety, latex allergy management, and malignant hyperthermia response
• Ensure accurate specimen handling and labeling, and adhere to Universal Protocol (Time Out) procedures
• Document and communicate using EPIC and SBAR methodology

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of operating room nursing experience required
• Demonstrated scrub experience in ENT surgery is required
• Proficiency in ambulatory OR setting required
• Pediatric ENT scrub experience required, including myringotomy with tubes and tonsillectomy/adenoids
• Active BLS certification required
• Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license required (pending licensure acceptable for submission)
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in pediatric general OR setting
• Ophthalmology surgical experience including cataract extraction, corneal transplant, glaucoma surgery, and vitrectomy
• Bronchoscopy and endoscopic procedure experience
• Familiarity with electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, infection control practices, and laser safety protocols
