This isn’t just a job, it’s a chance to lead innovation, engineer impact, and build a legacy of excellence.HDR is looking for a Structural Project Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services Business Group in Walnut Creek or Folsom, CA office. This individual will be responsible for the structural design of facilities in support of a variety of markets including Technology, Corporate/Commercial, Education, Healthcare, Water/Wastewater, Municipal, Industrial, Power, and Federal. They will be expected to coordinate and work closely with a multidiscipline design team throughout the entire life cycle of projects from planning stages, through the development of construction documents, and construction administration. They will be responsible for the development of construction drawings, specifications, and supporting engineering calculations, as well as the review of shop drawings during construction. Experience in structural design and detailing of building related projects is required. This individual should be self-motivated, collaborative and possess strong leadership skills with an initiative to deliver high quality, technically sound structural engineering designs.In the role of Structures Project Engineer, we'll count on you to: Review structural documents for areas of conflict with all disciplinesWrite and edit structural specifications, select procedures, materials and their respective sizes, and complete necessary calculationsIndependently coordinate the work of the structural design team through the design development and contract document phases of a projectEstablish meetings and participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code complianceConduct design development and contract document work sessions at project site in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplinesTake responsibility for coordinating workload through design development and construction document phases to complete the documents on scheduleCoordinate and assist with affected disciplines, with any addendum, requests for information, change proposal requests and change orders, and incorporate agreed-upon changes into the project documentsPerform other duties as needed Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering or BS degree in Architectural Engineering; Structural emphasisSE licensePrevious structural engineering experienceAutoCAD, RISA, Staad, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similarPrevious experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firmA minimum of 5 years structural engineering experience QualificationsRequired Qualifications Bachelor's degreePrevious experience in general civil engineeringRequires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered.
