Position Summary

We are seeking a senior-level .NET/Azure Developer to support the modernization of a mission-critical statewide application platform.

The organization is transitioning legacy ASP.NET applications to modern .NET 8+, RESTful APIs, Azure cloud services, SQL Server, and React-based user interfaces .

This is a hands-on application modernization position. The selected candidate will participate in technical design, architecture, development, cloud integration, testing, deployment, documentation, and production support.

The successful candidate will be comfortable taking ownership of solutions from concept through production and working independently in a lean engineering environment.

Key ResponsibilitiesApplication Modernization

• Modernize legacy ASP.NET applications using current .NET technologies.

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and maintainable application solutions.

• Reduce technical debt and improve application supportability.

• Design and develop RESTful APIs and API-first services.

• Develop cloud-native applications using Azure App Services and Azure Functions.

• Design, maintain, and optimize SQL Server solutions.

• Develop stored procedures and perform T-SQL performance tuning.

• Perform schema migrations and data cleanup.

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.

• Automate testing, deployment, and release processes.

• Participate in code reviews and architecture reviews.

Frontend Integration

• Develop and maintain React-based UI components.

• Work with client-side rendering (CSR), server-side rendering (SSR), and component-based architectures.

• Integrate third-party services and internal APIs.

• Document integrations and technical solutions.

• Develop and maintain reports using SSRS and Power BI.

• Support AI integration initiatives, including Azure AI, Copilot, and chatbot capabilities.

• Work with middleware technologies such as Boomi or MuleSoft as needed.

Quality Production Support

• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

• Troubleshoot production issues independently.

• Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective solutions.

• Maintain technical documentation, deployment runbooks, and user guides.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint activities.

• Support application security, accessibility, compliance, and data integrity requirements.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional .NET development experience.

• Strong experience with:

  • C#

  • ASP.NET MVC

  • ASP.NET Web API

  • RESTful APIs

  • SQL Server

  • T-SQL

• Hands-on experience migrating legacy ASP.NET applications to .NET 6, 7, 8, or 10 .

• Production SQL Server experience, including stored procedures, T-SQL tuning, schema migrations, and data cleanup.

• Hands-on Azure experience with:

  • Azure App Services

  • Azure Functions

  • Deployment pipelines

  • Configuration management

• 5+ years of experience delivering software in Agile environments such as Scrum or Kanban.

• Experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub.

Required Hands-On Experience

Candidates must have experience with:

• Migrating a real production application from legacy ASP.NET to modern .NET.

• Designing and maintaining RESTful APIs.

• Independently troubleshooting production issues.

• Taking ownership of technical solutions through design, development, testing, and deployment.

Preferred Qualifications

• React development experience within an existing application.

• Exposure to .NET 10.

• Power BI and/or SSRS reporting development.

• Government, healthcare, or public-sector application experience.

• Experience with compliance, auditability, and sensitive data.

• Familiarity with ADA/WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility standards.

• Azure Agentic AI or production AI integration experience.

• Boomi or MuleSoft experience.

• Experience working with PII and associated security protocols.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Work Location

• Must be physically located in Georgia.

• Hybrid schedule with TuesdayThursday onsite.

• In-person attendance may be required for meetings, project milestones, and other designated activities.
