Director Corporate Communications

The client is seeking a Director of Corporate Communications to lead corporate communications for a growing publicly traded biopharmaceutical organization. The role works closely with executive leadership on high-visibility initiatives and is responsible for shaping corporate storytelling and executive communications while translating complex scientific and clinical information into clear, compelling messaging. Responsibilities include developing and executing integrated corporate communications strategies aligned with organizational priorities and key milestones, managing media relations (including drafting press materials and supporting proactive outreach), and designing internal communications initiatives that promote culture, alignment, and change management. The Director will support crisis and issues communications by preparing strategies and materials, collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, HR, Commercial, and Executive teams to ensure compliant and aligned messaging, and partner with leadership to develop presentations, speeches, and other executive communications. The role also monitors media coverage and industry trends to identify opportunities and mitigate reputational risk, while supporting communications related to clinical and regulatory milestones, corporate announcements, and scientific presentations. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Life Sciences, or a related field, with a master’s degree preferred. The position calls for approximately 5–8+ years of experience in corporate communications in biotech, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or related areas, with proven capability in corporate reputation, executive communications, media relations, and internal initiatives. Candidates should be able to translate complex scientific and clinical information for diverse stakeholder groups, demonstrate strong written, verbal, and presentation skills, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and communications/digital channels is expected, along with the ability to independently develop high-quality structured presentations. Domestic travel up to 10% may be required for meetings, conferences, and events.
