Specialty Representative, Psychiatry - Kansas City East, MO

Field-based specialty pharmaceutical sales role focused on psychiatry therapeutics in the Kansas City East area. The position involves executing brand strategy, managing assigned territory and accounts, building customer relationships, and driving sales performance while maintaining compliance with healthcare industry regulations.

Responsibilities

• Execute brand strategy and meet sales performance targets, KPIs, and financial objectives in assigned territory
• Develop and implement call plans to optimize customer coverage and frequency while managing objections and closing sales
• Build trusted customer relationships by understanding needs, market landscape, competitors, and disease state dynamics
• Develop disease state experts and speaker/advocate relationships to differentiate AbbVie's value proposition
• Share market intelligence with in-field teams, brand teams, and sales management to optimize strategy execution

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business; or 5+ years equivalent industry experience with 3+ years pharmaceutical/health/science background
• High school diploma or GED minimum; valid driver's license and ability to pass drug screening
• Proven sales performance track record and strong presentation skills with business acumen
• Healthcare Industry Representative (HCIR) credentialing eligibility and willingness to maintain required credentials
• Ability to identify customer behaviors and adapt selling approach effectively in matrix environments
• Preferred: Physician/account-based selling, managed healthcare, or pharmaceutical marketing experience
• Preferred: In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge in psychiatry or related areas
