We are seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join our Data Team within HIMCO IT. This role is critical in partnering with technology and investment professionals to deliver innovative solutions that meet dynamic information and automation needs. You will build systems & supply data that empower Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Analysts to make informed investment and financial decisions.As a Software Engineer, you will play a key role in designing and building HIMCO’s next-generation enterprise data platform, a strategic initiative that will provide a secure, scalable, and AI-ready foundation for data delivery, analytics, reporting, and business operations across the firm.In this role, you will:Design, develop, and enhance a modern enterprise data platform that enables scalable, reliable, and secure access to data across HIMCOBuild and support data ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and delivery solutions that power critical business processes and decision-makingDevelop APIs, services, web applications, and automation solutions that integrate seamlessly with the data platform ecosystemCollaborate with business partners, data engineers, architects, and application development teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutionsIntegrate internal and third-party data sources while ensuring data quality, governance, and operational excellenceApply software engineering best practices, including object-oriented design, automated testing, CI/CD, cloud technologies, and AI-assisted development toolsContribute to architecture decisions and help shape the future direction of HIMCO's data and technology capabilitiesThis is an exciting opportunity for an engineer who is passionate about building data-intensive systems, solving complex business challenges, and creating technology platforms that have a broad impact across the organization. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition.
