Laboratory Analyst - Mycology - Eurofins Built Environment Testing, Phoenix, AZ

Phoenix, AZ, USA Full-time Eurofins Built Environment Testing is seeking a Laboratory Analyst in our Mycology department. Job Description The Analyst performs analysis of non‑culturable surface and air samples for fungi, prepares and analyzes environmental samples following SOPs, validates and reviews data, uploads data into LIMS, schedules sample workload, and uses laboratory equipment. Responsibilities Prepare and analyze aerobiological, environmental, and water samples for fungal analysis Accurately enter and report analytical data using the LIMS Perform independent data reviews for other analysts’ work Analyze reference materials, proficiency samples and other quality control samples as needed Maintain client service and provide technical support as needed Assist the QA manager in developing, implementing, and collecting QA data for analytical tests Confirm lab results as needed by client services personnel Complete all analytical testing QA related tasks as needed Assist in pursuing, receiving, and maintaining necessary laboratory accreditations Maintain and update all necessary Training and QA documents onsite as necessary Coordinate and manage projects according to rush status and due time for timely delivery Assist co‑workers with analytical questions, as necessary Participate in Lean initiatives and projects when called upon Follow company policies and procedures and ensure coworkers do the same Secondary Duties Manage and maintain the inventory of resale supply items and laboratory consumables, and reorder supplies as needed Manage and dispose of analyzed samples as needed Train new mycology, bacteriology, asbestos, or other analytical testing analysts as needed Recommend and coordinate sample transfer as necessary Establish and maintain laboratory stock culture and reference samples Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for errors and issues as necessary Maintain all equipment properly and coordinate servicing of laboratory equipment as needed Communicate available capacity to Regional Manager routinely Support other departments within the lab (mycology, asbestos, bacteriology, and others) when appropriate and as needed Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the Supervisor/Manager Qualifications 1–2 years of laboratory work experience involving mold and/or asbestos microscopy analysis (preferred) Bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biology, or a closely related science (required) 8 units of microbiology courses (preferred) Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship Professional working proficiency in English, including the ability to read, write, and speak in English (required) Compensation and Benefits Hourly pay: $21.00 – $25.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Position is full‑time, Monday‑Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, with the possibility of overtime and weekends.
