Job Summary
An Automotive Retail Salesperson assists customers throughout the vehicle purchasing process, from initial contact to final delivery. This role focuses on building relationships, understanding customer needs, and delivering a transparent, compliant, and high-quality buying experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet customers and assist in-person and online - Identify customer needs and recommend vehicles - Conduct product presentations and test drives - Explain features, warranties, and add-ons - Complete sales transactions and documentation - Follow California compliance laws (DMV, TILA, etc.) - Meet sales goals and maintain customer relationships - Collaborate with F&I and dealership staff
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent - Valid California driver’s license - Ability to obtain CA Vehicle Salesperson License - Sales or customer service experience preferred
Skills & Competencies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Sales and negotiation ability - Customer-focused mindset - Basic computer proficiency - Problem-solving skills

- Indoor showroom and outdoor lot - Weekend and evening shifts required - Fast-paced sales environment
Physical Demands
- Prolonged standing and walking - Frequent bending, reaching, crouching - Repeated entering/exiting vehicles - Sitting for driving/test drives - Lift/carry up to 25 pounds - Operate computers and vehicle controls - Work in varying weather conditions - Visual and hearing ability for communication
