About the Job Pacific International has been retained by a global organization operating within a complex, service-driven industry. As the business continues to strengthen its operational leadership capabilities, the organization is seeking a Director of Transportation & Planning to lead a critical function within one of its major operations. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for overseeing transportation, planning, and day-to-day service execution within a fast-paced, 24/7 environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading teams, improving operational performance, and ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with customer expectations. The ideal candidate will bring experience leading complex transportation, logistics, or service operations and will have a proven track record of improving performance, developing teams, and managing changing operational demands. Key Responsibilities Lead transportation, planning, dispatch, and service delivery operations Develop and implement strategies to improve safety, efficiency, and operational performance Oversee daily planning, scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation Drive improvements in fleet utilization, routing, labor efficiency, and service performance Lead and develop high-performing operational teams Establish clear processes, performance expectations, and accountability across the function Partner with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure consistent service execution Manage changing priorities, peak periods, and unexpected operational challenges Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, security, and customer requirements Use operational data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement Support a culture focused on safety, accountability, customer service, and continuous improvement Ideal Candidate Profile 8-10+ years of experience within transportation, logistics, service operations, planning, dispatch, or a related environment Proven leadership experience within a fast-paced, 24/7 operation Experience managing transportation, routing, fleet, planning, and service delivery functions Strong people leadership and team development capabilities Demonstrated ability to improve safety, efficiency, service, and overall operational performance Strong planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Ability to manage changing priorities and complex operational demands Strong communication skills with the ability to work across multiple teams and stakeholder groups Highly adaptable, hands-on, and solutions-oriented leadership style PACIFIC DIVERSITY STATEMENT: At Pacific International, diversity, equity, and inclusion are at the core of who we are and what we do.
