Medical Assistant, Certified

Responsibilities Assist in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a physician. Conduct intake on patients, record vital signs (pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height), and complete patient health history in the electronic medical record. Display good decision‑making skills and possess knowledge of anatomy and proficiency in medical terminology. Be able to multitask and maintain a fast pace during clinic hours. Draw and collect blood samples for patients, prepare specimens for laboratory analysis, and may be exposed to bodily fluids during patient care. Assist provider and/or nursing staff in providing care for clinic patients following established standards and practices. Maintain exam rooms with necessary supplies and materials; ensure cleanliness. Greet patients and prepare them for the nurse or provider examination by taking them to the exam room and obtaining weight, temperature, and blood pressure. Help patients schedule follow‑up appointments and/or referrals. Efficiently utilize the clinic’s data management system (electronic or manual) to maintain accurate patient records and use the NHS interface proficiently. Screen patients for appropriate information to enter in the records and ensure the chart is accurate and complete. Complete paperwork accurately, completely, and in a timely manner. Communicate pertinent data concerning the client’s status with members of the health team to ensure continuity of care. Ensure assigned office(s) provide a good customer experience as measured by PCA Question #2 Staff/Team Member Service Operations Marker. Ensure assigned office(s) offer acceptable patient wait times as measured by PCA Question #3 Wait Time Operations Marker. Ensure assigned office(s) provide an overall very satisfactory patient care experience as measured by PCA Question #6 Would Recommend Operations Marker. Perform other duties as assigned or requested. Requirements Current Medical Assistant Certification or Registration. High School Diploma or Equivalent. Minimum one year of clinic experience. Benefits Health, vision, and dental insurance.
