Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week Interventional Radiology position in Kenosha, WI at a Level IV Trauma Center, requiring at least 2 years of IR experience and active WI or compact RN licensure.

• Work setting is a Level IV Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center with 2 IR suites in Kenosha, WI
• Patient population includes inpatient, outpatient, and ER patients; no neuro IR cases
• Required procedures include paras/thoras, biopsies (bone, thyroid, liver, renal), abscess drainage, upper/lower extremity angiograms, fistulograms, G-tube placements/exchanges, kyphoplasty/vertebroplasty, coil embolizations, nephrostomy tubes/nephroureteral stents, trialysis catheters/central lines, ports, and IVC filters
• Preferred procedure experience includes Y90s and TIPS
• Staff will assist with ultrasound-guided cases and CT as needed
• Minimum case team consists of 1 RN, 1 Tech, and a Radiologist/PA/APC; higher acuity cases typically include an additional RN or RT
• EMR: Epic (experience preferred)
• Cath Lab and IR are separate departments
• Schedule: 8-hour day shifts, Monday–Friday, with rotating start times of 0700–1530 or 0800–1630
• On-call rotation includes 1 weekend per 4-week schedule (EOS Friday through Monday at 0700) and 1 weekday call shift per week (1630–0700)
• On the call team's scheduled day, 1 RN and 1 Tech work the late shift (0800–1630) and serve as the call team
• Weekend rotation is on-call basis only; no routine weekend shifts
• Holiday coverage required on an every-other basis, on-call only (1 per contract)

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of IR experience required
• Must be proficient in administering conscious/moderate sedation (no propofol) and other IV medications
• Must be comfortable circulating IR cases
• At least 12 months of core IR experience with most recent experience within the last year
• 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN collected within the last year required for consideration
• Candidate DOB and last 4 digits of SSN required for consideration
• Candidate's middle name or initial required for consideration
• Former employees of Advocate Health or any subsidiaries must have been separated for at least 12 months to be eligible

Additional Information

• Fully staffed department model includes 4 RNs, 4 Techs, Radiologist, RT, Hospitalist, Rapid Response/Code Team, and a Lead Tech who manages the daily schedule and lab operations
• Orientation is 3 days, with the possibility of a few additional days if needed; buddy call is included during orientation
• Scrubs are provided; candidates may keep shoes in the locker room or wear shoe covers over outside footwear

• RTO requests must be approved by the manager
